Introducing Selig's Newsletter: A New Chapter Begins
Announcing Our Evolution from FS One to SeligSIM
This edition of the newsletter highlights a couple of important changes. The newsletter title is changing from "RC Flight Simulation with FS One" to "Selig's Newsletter." This new title more accurately reflects the broader range of topics I want to cover, including flight simulation, aerodynamics, RC modeling, and beyond.
Another reason for the title change is the launch of the new SeligSIM brand for the latest version of the RC flight simulator. The FS One brand was a great fit for 19 years (since April 2005) and will still be used. I may delve into the motivations behind these changes in a future issue. Over the past few months, my focus has been on ensuring a smooth transition over to the new name.
I am happy to announce that the new SeligSIM.com website is now live, featuring the latest iteration of InertiaSoft's free flight simulator: SeligSIM 2024a. This version incorporates all prior updates and downloadable content (DLC) from FS One 2022, except for the large 32k indoor Sci-Fi Pano, which is anticipated to be released as a SeligSIM DLC in the future.
The tradition of subsequent updates beyond 2024 "a", denoted as "b", "c", "d" editions, and so on, will continue. I'll be sure to keep you updated about these developments right here in the newsletter.

If you download and test out the new edition, you'll know you have the right one if it looks like this below. The background image was produced from a photo that I took at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, which is part of the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum. The sailplane is the Bowlus-du Pont 1-S-2100 Senior Albatross "Falcon".

Until next time, happy landings!
